Two districts describe their experiences implementing TeenScreen
-- BEGIN EXCERPT
From its inception through April of this year, the district sent out 4,140 notices to parents, which resulted in the screening of 864 youths. Nearly one in three of the students screened, or 251 students, were referred to mental health services. Just over half, or 133 students, accepted services.
.
The Tulsa program has started offering incentives such as food and drink coupons simply for the return of a release form, whether or not the student agrees to be screened.
