Emily Laurenzano – Psychiatrist
WAKEFIELD, Mass. — A Massachusetts doctor had her license revoked after the Board of Registration in Medicine found she had practiced while impaired.
Case documents allege that Dr. Emily A. Laurenzano began abusing prescription pills and illegal drugs in 2018 and that she frequently discussed abusing cocaine, Adderall, Xanax and marijuana in a group chat that unfolded in 2019.
Her drug abuse was reported in May 2019.
She practiced psychiatry at Baystate Medical Center. Laurenzano was first licensed in 2017 and had entered a voluntary agreement to not practice at the end of May 2019.
The Board of Registration took its disciplinary action in a meeting Thursday.
Case documents state, “there is no evidence that the Respondent’s drug use resulted in harm” and that Laurenzano has been complying with a Physician Health Services contract that requires her to submit to testing, monitoring and support groups.
