Doctor and wife arrested for allegedly forging prescriptions

COLONIE, N.Y. – The wife of a local psychiatrist has been arrested by the Colonie Police Department for allegedly forging prescriptions for controlled substances with her husband’s knowledge.
The investigation started on June 26th when the pharmacist at the Shop Rite on Central Avenue contacted Colonie Police to report the receipt of a forged prescription for Xanax and Morphine. The pharmacist was able to determine that it was a stolen and forged prescription when she contacted the Physician’s Assistant who supposedly wrote the prescription.
Police say the suspect, 28-year-old Jennifer George of East Schodack, works as an office manager for her husband’s office, was using a false identity. However, during the check of the prescription the pharmacist contacted Jennifer’s husband, Dr. Kevin George, who verified the truth about the prescription.
Dr. Kevin George, 53, is an Albany psychiatrist who was accused of sexually abusing two victims in June 2012.
A similar incident occurred on Monday, July 8th at the CVS Pharmacy on Sand Creek Road in which a male, Nicholas Marro, was trying to pass a similar stolen/forged prescription for Percocets. It was determined that Jennifer George was also involved in this transaction.
Investigators with the NYS Bureau of Controlled Substances were present and Marro was arrested in the CVS parking lot that day, along with George who was located and arrested as well.
During the booking of Marro and George, Dr. George came to the police station and was subsequently arrested for his part in the incident in June.
The investigation also found forged prescriptions were passed at the Rite-Aid on Central Avenue involving the controlled substances Xanax, Morphine, Methadone, Oxycodone, Diazepam, and Soma. The prescriptions utilized all came from the office of Dr. Kevin George, but were forged using a Physician’s Assistant’s signature.
Additionally, George was arrested on July 2nd for Driving While Ability Impaired by drugs. During that investigation, numerous drugs related to the passing of the stolen/forged prescriptions was located in her vehicle.
Jennifer George has been charged with four counts of Possession of a Forged Instrument, two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance and Criminal Possession of Narcotic Drug. Dr. George has been charged with Possession of a Forged Instrument.
This investigation is on-going and other arrests may be made.
