Florida Psychiatrist Yasin Choudry – Ticking Time Bomb

The underlying cause of the Florida administrative complaint was an August 2015 New Mexico Medical Board Stipulation of Licensure ordering Choudry to “abstain completely from the use of mind-altering substances, or alcoholic beverages, or controlled substances except as legitimately prescribed by a licensed physician”. That Stipulation of Licensure went on to order him to take steps to be monitored by other licensed health care professionals, appear before the Board on a quarterly basis among other requirements and warned him that “If the Board has reasonable cause to believe (Choudry) has violated any of the terms of this stipulation the Board may immediately and summarily suspend his license to practice as a physician…”
The Florida Board of Medicine held a hearing last week and according to documents from the Board neither Choudry nor any attorney appeared on his behalf. Instead Florida psychiatrist Penelope Ziegler, Medical Director of Professionals Resource Network (PRN)(An AMA group contracted by the FL DOH to “treat” and monitor impaired health professionals)spoke on his behalf. The only note in the hearing minutes was “Dr. Ziegler addressed his participation in PRN”. The audio from the Board hearing is not yet available to me, should be any day now.
The Board did assign Choudry costs, acknowledged violation of the law but imposed no penalty. It is possible Choudry went to PRN on his own before the Florida Medical Board found out about this which “cleared” him of wrongdoing.
On his own website he details his past and drug history; heroin addict while in med school to the point of developing abscesses all over his body, ozzing green pus, suicidal, could not get out of bed, took many other drugs to handle that but went down in flames because psychs in his country did not understand addiction, had many psychiatric diagnosis, etc. etc.
