Woman employed as psychiatrist in west Cumbria charged with fraud

Police have confirmed that they charged Zholia Alemi yesterday with a total of 13 alleged offences.
Formerly of High Harrington, Alemi was charged after a lengthy investigation was carried out by detectives from the area’s Crime and Safeguarding Team.
The allegations Alemi faces are:
* Two counts of making a false instrument with intent it be accepted as genuine
* Eight counts of fraud by false representation
* Three counts of obtaining a pecuniary advantage
The defendant – who previously worked in a Workington dementia clinic with elderly patients – will appear appear before Manchester City Magistrates’ Court on September 22. It is not known whether she will be in a position at that point to enter pleas.
Police have released no further details of the alleged frauds.
