Ex-patient says he was doctor’s ‘slave’

A former patient of a Massachusetts psychiatrist who recently had her license suspended by state regulators says she used him as a virtual ”slave” while he lived in her suburban Boston apartment last year. The unidentified man told the Boston Herald Wednesday that Dr. Suzanne King also used another ex-patient as a ”sex slave” in a desperate bid to get pregnant. King, 42, of Brookline, Mass., was suspended last week by the state Board of Registration in Medicine for having sexual relations with a former patient, who reportedly did get her pregnant. She was also suspended from her job at Massachusetts General Hospital earlier this year for what the hospital would only describe as ”inappropriate and erratic behavior.” The 34-year-old man, who is gay, said King invited him to move into her apartment just several weeks after he began seeing her for treatment of depression in October 1993. ”Soon after I moved in, she told me I’d have to get used to the care and feeding of Dr. King,” he told the newspaper. ”I didn’t know what she meant, but I soon found out.” Among his duties, the man said, were running errands, cleaning house, walking her dog and serving coffee in bed each morning to King and her lesbian lover. The man said he ”didn’t dare question” the orders for fear of being evicted, and didn’t have enough money to rent another apartment. ”I’m haunted by her to this day,” he said. Both men have filed complaints against King with the medical board and say they plan to file suit against her. King and her lawyer were not immediately available for comment on the allegations.
