Board suspends doctor’s license

Dr. Allison Hargrave, a psychiatrist accused of a federal sex crime, has had her medical license suspended, according to the Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners’ website.
Her license was suspended June 6, “pending administrative action.”
Hargrave was indicted May 26 for enticing a minor to engage in sexual activity.
A hearing will be set to discuss her license and the board would not release more information on why her license was suspended.
“We don’t generally give that information out because if the reason for the suspension proves to be false, then she would get her license back,” board confidential executive assistant Rita Arseneaux said Monday.
She was arrested at the Pine Grove Behavioral Health and Addiction Services in Hattiesburg on June 2, where she was receiving treatment for a sexual disorder, major recurrent depression and post-traumatic stress disorder.
Her court date is set for August. She will remain in an Iberia Parish Jail until her trial.
Hargrave was issued a medical license in 2001. She was hired later by Ascension Episcopal School and worked as a chaplain and counselor.
There she began counseling a 14-year-old female student in October, and allegedly e-mailed explicit messages to her and engaged in sex acts until February.
