Nadir Omara, 48, of Sapling Place, Rushmere St Andrew, denied two charges of sending indecent communications to staff members at the Abbeycare addiction treatment centre. He was found guilty by magistrates in January and sentenced to 12 weeks custody. This week, a medical practitioners tribunal decided to suspend Dr Omara for 15 months, subject to a review. Dr Omara collapsed in the dock after hearing he would be jailed.
