A DEVON psychiatrist who suffered a stress-related heart attack at work has lost her claim for damages from the NHS after claiming she was overworked.

Dr Alison Bailey had her heart attack in 2008 and, although she went back to work, she retired in 2011 with a ‘psychiatric injury’.

Suing the Devon Partnership NHS Trust, she claimed her mental problems had been ultimately caused by the stress she was under.

Bosses at work had not done enough to protect her and help prevent her from falling ill, she argued in her claim.
