Hello NAMI member!

I’m hoping I can get a comment from you for my second NAMI story at my website PsychSearch.net.

I hope you can respond very soon. My deadline for this one is Tuesday, October 29. Here is the question:

Do you know of one psychiatrist’s office in the world where a patient can visit tomorrow
morning and get a biological test performed that will detect and diagnose some sort of
“mental illness” disease?

If so, who is this psychiatrist and what biological test (blood test, urine test, brain scan, etc.)
does he use to detect and diagnose a “mental illness”. I’d like to interview him!

If you know of none, would you then agree that a “mental illness” diagnosis is only the opinion
of a psychiatrist and is not based on any biological test at all?

Some NAMI members have already responded to a similar question and I appreciate that, but if you could
answer this one also, I can hopefully use it in the story.

I am sincerely interested in your response as I know that many NAMI members say that mental illness is
a disease. So, I am looking for this evidence!
