License Of Spokane Psychiatrist Suspended By Medical Commission
LENGTH: 198 words
DATELINE: OLYMPIA, Wash.
Feb. 13, 1998–The state Medical Quality Assurance Commission indefinitely suspended the license of Spokane psychiatrist Arthur F. Leritz (MD13906) last week.
Leritz was temporarily suspended for sexual misconduct in December 1997 while his case was reviewed.
Leritz had sexual contact with two patients in 1997. He also improperly administered medication to one of those patients, misrepresented facts during the Commission’s investigation, and engaged in conduct that lowers the standing of the profession.
Following a psychological evaluation, mental health treatment, payment of a $ 10,000 fine, and reimbursement of one patient’s fees, Leritz may petition the Commission to lift the suspension.
