Federal Judge Jay García Gregory issued the sentence, as suggested by a plea agreement for the accused, whose practice is focused on care for children and adolescents.
“It’s very difficult to stand here and look at the person who hurt me so deeply. Really do not know how there are people who abuse the needs of others, “he said one of the victims to go to court before the judge issued the sentence.
The injured had the help of the prosecutor, Marshall Morgan, who brought the case against the psychiatrist of 60 years.
Agents of the Office of Homeland Security Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE-HSI) Rodriguez Navarro arrested in September 2013, after undergoing a complaint that charged him two patients criminal acts against minors.
A third victim could be identified during the course of the investigation by federal authorities.
However, the plea agreement signed by the parties is limited to ensuring that abuse had with one of the minor when he was 16 or 17 years old. This was the same who spoke in open court about their victimization by the accused, who waived his right to address the court.
“I feel like I went to a professional to seek help that never came. He took advantage of their patients, “said the young man, who now works as a nurse.
