Former States of Guernsey psychiatrist admits making indecent images of children

A psychiatrist formerly employed by the States of Guernsey has pleaded guilty to making thousands of indecent images of children.
Dr Greg Lydall pleaded guilty to 11 charges at Guernsey Royal Court.
The court heard that some of the images found fell into the most severe category.
He will be sentenced on 31 October.
The Committee for Health and Social Care wants to reassure the public that Dr Lydall did not come into contact with minors during his employment with them.
HSC does not believe there has been any risk to patients during the course of his employment and at no time during his employment with HSC did he have professional contact with any person under 18 in the course of his duties. Immediately, upon learning of the allegations, HSC ensured Greg Lydall had no further contact with any patients.

The Committee has also set up a confidential helpline for patients or former patients who have concerns about the care provided by Greg Lydall while he was employed there.
