A Yonkers psychiatrist was ordered today to perform six months of community service and to treat 50 Medicaid patients for free as punishment for stealing $100,000 from the state’s Medicaid program.

Judge Nicholas Colabella in Westchester County Court also placed the psychiatrist, 51-year-old Hector Retik, who lives in New City, on probation for five years and ordered him to repay the stolen money…

According to Edward Kuriansky, a deputy attorney general, Dr. Retik billed the state for 31-to-60-minute psychotherapy sessions for various Medicaid patients, when in fact the sessions were shorter.
