Two Lehigh County women were arrested a week ago for alleged prescription drug crimes, the state Attorney General’s office said.
Dr. Maryann T. Weisman, 54, of Whitehall Township, and Stacey A. Zuniga, 46, of Allentown, were arrested Wednesday by agents with the attorney general’s office.
Phone numbers for the women could not be located. Attorneys have not entered appearances for the pair yet, records show.
Weisman, of the 800 block of Jefferson Street, is a psychiatrist accused of issuing four prescriptions to three patients after her medical and surgeon licenses were suspended in December.
Weisman is charged with possession with intent to deliver oxycodone, Adderall and Vyvanse, as well as four counts of use of fictitious registration. She is free on $50,000 unsecured bail.
Zuniga, of the 2600 block of Arch Street, allegedly called in multiple prescriptions for Tramadol, a pain medication, to two pharmacies without her doctor’s approval. State authorities were tipped off by South Whitehall Township police, who began investigating fake prescriptions being called in to the township Target store.
Zuniga is charged with acquiring or obtaining possession of a controlled substance by misrepresentation and intent to possess a controlled substance. She is free on $20,000 bail.
