In other action Saturday, the medical board voted:

* To refuse to consider the possible reinstatement of Miami psychiatrist Dr. Michael Solloway. In 1981 Solloway became the first psychiatrist in Florida to lose his license for having sex with a patient.

Dr. Solloway called his lengthy relationship with a female patient a “mistake in judgment.” He appealed the board’s action and continued to practice medicine until last January, when the Florida Supreme Court upheld the revocation.

Despite support from the South Florida Psychiatric Association, Dr. Solloway was unable to convince a majority of medical board members that he should be reinstated.

“If revocation is indeed to mean anything, then I think this revocation should stand,” said Dr. Robert Katims, a board member from Miami.
