In a bombshell lawsuit filed in the Southern District of New York and obtained by Confidenti@l, Louise Meanwell alleges her doctor Charlotte Murphy “disclosed confidential medical information” without her consent
Meanwell – who also goes by the name Neathway — saw Murphy from August 2010 to January 10, 2012, according to Meanwell’s complaint.
Meanwell has been charged with allegedly extorting $6,000 and attempting to get a further $15,000 from Cashman during their 2011 affair.
In the court papers, it’s alleged Murphy “disclosed both confidential and false information” about Meanwell’s condition to Cashman.
Attorneys for Meanwell say Murphy was “negligent and reckless” in disclosing information to third parties that caused Meanwell “severe psychological damage” as well as damage to her reputation.
In a further shocking allegation, the papers say Murphy disclosed “both confidential and false information” about Meanwell’s medical condition to Manhattan Assistant District Attorney Eric Iverson.
Meanwell charges Murphy’s actions were the reason for her arrest and incarceration for more than five months and accuse her of medical malpractice.
She is seeking damages for pain and suffering, emotional distress and damage to her reputation.
Murphy declined to comment. Cashman could not be reached for comment.
