Psychiatrist gets probation, must pay $131,775 to IRS

A 70-year-old Kearney, Nebraska, psychiatrist was sentenced Thursday in federal court to five years of probation for failing to pay more than $131,000 in federal payroll taxes.

U.S. Attorney Deborah Gilg’s office said that Dr. Reynaldo De Los Angeles also was ordered to provide free psychiatric care to residents of Buffalo County one day a month for five years.

De Los Angeles is required to pay $131,775 in restitution to the Internal Revenue Service, provide his probation officer with access to his financial records to assess his ability to pay restitution and to monitor his lifestyle, and complete a cognitive behavioral-based program…
