A Kennebunk physician was suspended from practicing medicine Tuesday by the Maine Board of Licensure in Medicine.
The state agency said that Sarah E. Babine, a psychiatrist, failed to comply with an order issued in July, when she was found to have engaged in habitual substance abuse and ordered to undergo monitoring and counseling. The board said failure to comply with that order represented ”an imminent danger to the public.”
The board released a statement saying it summarily suspended Babine on Tuesday and will hold an adjudicatory hearing on the action in October.
