–Excerpt

FAIRFIELD — Police have charged a Fairfield psychiatrist already suspected of groping three patients in his Post Road office with two additional sexual assaults, one of which was captured on an audio recording made by the victim, according to an arrest warrant.

The doctor, 75-year-old Lazaro Pomeraniec of Westport, who surrendered his license to practice medicine in July, was arrested Aug. 25 in connection with incidents that are alleged to have occurred March 5 and May 16, according to court records…

According to arrest warrant affidavits from Fairfield police Detectives Beth Leetch and Jason Takacs, as of last month police had received complaints from 12 different patients of Pomeraniec “who have reported being sexually assaulted and/or the recipient of unwanted sexually charged comments about their appearance during their appointments/meetings with him.”
