Psychiatrist pleads guilty to harassment

Mohammad Omar Mohabbat, 76, was charged with second- degree sexual abuse and harassment in 2013. Prosecutors dismissed the sexual abuse charge and accepted a guilty plea to the harassment charge on Monday, according to court documents.
He received a six-month jail sentence, which was suspended. He will instead serve one year of unsupervised probation.
No details about the alleged abuse or harassment have been released or included in court documents.
The victim in the case said that she was glad Mohabbat entered the guilty plea.
“I’m glad he can’t hurt anyone else,” she said.
Mohabbat’s office is on Alabama Highway 69 North.
